Can someone get their cosmetology license if they have a felony in Texas?

My sister-in-law used to have her license. She obtained it in high school. She got depressed and got into drugs and ended up getting a felony for possession. She has now been clean for several years and has been staying at home with her one year old daughter. Now that her daughter will soon be two she is ready to start working again. She would love to get her license again but is afraid that they won’t let her because of the felony. Can anyone help in this subject?

Yeah, She can…My mom(She works for the cosmetology School.) says, In Maine, They haven’t been known to stop a felon from getting their license, So it could be the same for texas(tell her to look up(or contact.) the state laws(or board.)…But if she is asked if she has committed a crime, Tell her to Answer Honestly.
